Partner 14 - CNRS-UPR 1983 (CNRS)
CNRS participate in WP4 of the project. The group will be lead by .Dr. Rima Zoorob (Associate Professor at Paris-XI University, head of the Avian Immunogenetic group) and include Véronique Morin and Anne Oudin as technical personnel
The experience of the CNRS group in the generation, sequencing, analysis, clustering and annotation of full-length cDNA libraries, in integration of mapping data, and in the production of cDNA array-based expression data is very useful for SABRE. Their participation involves the extraction of high quality RNA from samples which differ in their susceptibility to infection with E. maxima infection model, and to carry out microarray experimental hybridisations for this disease model. The team has been working on the analysis of the chicken MHC for 15 years, and has identified the first molecular probes for the chicken MHC and established the first molecular map of the complex, including a set of cosmid and BAC clones spanning the MHC. The group has also constructed a chicken bacterial artificial chromosome library and arrays as tools for the physical cloning and isolation of chicken genes. Moreover the CNRS group has pioneered
(i) an approach to collect and sequence and release chicken cDNA sequences from activated immune tissues,
(ii) established a micro-cDNA array for gene expression monitoring, and has acquired great expertise and experience in the hybridization and analysis of cDNA array through their participation and coordination, in the EU framework 5, of the Chicken-Image project (KA5-QLRT-CT99-1591).
